In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain core Laravel services while collaborating with Node.js and Nuxt.js services. Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using PHP and Laravel.
Integrate with services built using Node.js and support Nuxt.js frontend applications when needed.
Implement and maintain authentication and authorization integrations, including OAuth2, JWT, SSO, and role-based access control.
Manage services through API gateways, including routing, rate limiting, versioning, and security policies.
Design and maintain communication between services using REST APIs, webhooks, and message queues.
Implement metrics, logging, and alerting, using Grafana and Prometheus to monitor system health and performance.
Troubleshoot production issues, resolve performance bottlenecks, and support incident resolution across services.
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and documented code.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions and technical documentation.
Mentor junior and mid-level developers and promote engineering best practices.
Qualifications
Requirements:

5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 4 years building production systems with PHP and Laravel.
Strong understanding of Laravel internals, including Eloquent, queues, events, jobs, middleware, caching, and testing.
Working knowledge of Node.js and Nuxt.js or Vue.js, with the ability to read, debug, and extend existing services.
Hands-on experience with authentication standards and services, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
Experience with API gateways such as Kong, AWS API Gateway, NGINX, or Traefik.
Experience using Grafana and Prometheus for service monitoring, dashboards, and alerting.
Proven experience integrating multiple services or working within a microservices architecture.
Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and caching technologies such as Redis.
Good understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Experience with logging and tracing tools such as Loki, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
Background in fintech, e-commerce, or payment systems.
Knowledge of security best practices, including the OWASP Top 10, and compliance standards such as ISO 27001.
Soft Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong collaboration skills when working with Product, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams.
A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback during code reviews.
